  Pre-Historic Crocodile

Unearthing stone deposited 50 million years ago and extracting by hand from a private quarry in Wyoming, each natural fossil stone mural is a snapshot in time. The crocodile (Borealosuchuswilsoni) is one of four complete specimens ever found.

Remains

Cathy McClure eviscerates motordriven robotic plush toys until all that remains are the articulated plastic limbs and body armature containing the preserved mechanics. She then casts the limbs and armatures in bronze and reassembles, creating figural sculpture.
